Board of Directors

Jay Row

President

Jay and his family have been members of the CHS since 2000. They had the fortunate situation where an existing CHS member encouraged them to get involved.

Jay has two daughters Kiana and Kaylee.  Kaylee is his heart child who was born with Tetraology of Fallot.

Jay was on the board previously from 2006-2016 in many capacities. He look's forward to working on the CHS board once again with these amazing people!

Krista Anderson

Vice - President

Krista is honored to be the Vice President of the Children’s Heart Society (CHS) and a dedicated advocate for heart families. After seven years as an active member, she took a brief hiatus but is now back and excited to be back working alongside an inspiring board to support the CHS community.

Krista’s journey with CHS began when her first son, Mason, was born with a heart condition and underwent lifesaving open-heart surgery at just four days old. The Children’s Heart Society quickly became a safe and supportive space for her family, offering connection and support that she could not find amongst other peer groups.

With a deep passion for helping other families navigate the complexities of congenital heart disease, Krista is committed to ensuring that CHS continues to be a source of support , connection, and community for those facing similar journeys.

Outside of the CHS, Krista is a busy Mom of three and owns a cookie business. You can often find her at the hockey arena, soccer field, or dance studio, balancing family life with her passion for baking and finding way to support her community.

Sandra Bradford

Secretary

Sandra became a heart mom when her youngest son was born with a heart defect (Tetralogy of Fallot).

Sandra has been a member of the Children's Heart Society since 2012 and her family has enjoyed many CHS events, especially the May Long Weekend Campout.  She has felt very fortunate that her family can participate in these activities.

By joining the Board in 2020, she wanted to help out, so heart families can continue to enjoy these types of events, chat with others and hopefully not feel so alone.  In 2021, she took on the role of Secretary.

Charles Ouellet

Director, Membership Chair

Charles was introduced to the Children's Heart Society through his spouse, who has Congenital Heart Disease. He was born and raised in Montreal but moved to Alberta with the Canadian Army. Now, he coaches hockey and is working towards becoming a firefighter with Edmonton Fire Services. He is a big sports fan, especially hockey (Go Oilers!). He enjoys spending time outdoors and with his dog, Presley.

Charles looks forward to providing support and building relationships with families and children with heart disease.

Ketherin Owergoor

Director of Communciations, Co-Director of In-Hospital Events

Ketherin became a part of the CHS because of her brother, who was born with double outlet right ventricle. As the older sister, she recalls the frequent hospital visits and the emotional toll it took on her family. Through all of these challenges, she and her family have found comfort and strength in the supportive community CHS provides.

Over the years she has actively contributed by helping with both in-hospital and out-of-hospital events. This year, she decided to take on a bigger role by stepping into a director position, eager to make an even greater impact within the organization.

In her free time, Ketherin enjoys travelling, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She is excited about her new role and is committed to helping the organization grow and make a positive impact on the lives of families affected by heart disease.

Lambert Guay

Director of Fundraising

Lambert Guay is leading fundraising efforts for the Children's Heart Society this year. Originally from Montreal, he moved to Alberta 15 years ago and has embraced the outdoor lifestyle. An avid skier, he enjoys exploring nature and staying active.

With a strong background in public service, Lambert works as both a firefighter and a lifeguard, dedicating his time to keeping others safe. His passion for helping the community extends to his role on the CHS board, where he is eager to make a meaningful impact.

Lambert is excited to bring fresh ideas to fundraising initiatives and looks forward to helping CHS grow and support even more families this year!

Kaylee Row

Director of Out of Hospital Events

Kaylee was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and has undergone six heart surgeries, starting at just two days old. She enjoys travelling, helping others, and spending time with her family and loved ones.

She became a member of the Children's Heart Society at the age of five, and it has been an important part of her life ever since. The organization has provided her and her family with a strong community filled with support, love, and understanding. Being able to connect with other children with heart disease and their families has played a significant role in her healing and journey.

Kaylee joined the board around 2016 to help families find support from others experiencing similar challenges. She is passionate about providing comfort to families both in and out of the hospital, building a larger community, and spreading awareness about heart disease and its short- and long-term effects on children and their families. She is excited for the year ahead and looks forward to bringing positive changes!

Tianna Krieger

Co-Director of In-Hospital Events

Tianna's connection to the Children's Heart Society comes from her sister, who was born with congenital heart disease.

This organization has been a crucial support system for her family, and she is eager to give back to others facing similar challenges. She works as a dental hygienist, and when she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors or playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog puppy.

Tianna looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of families within this amazing community!
